MARTIAL ARTS
Tressa
started the martial arts at the age of 4 and
continues to devote her time to
her
training and advancement. The martial arts have
given her the opportunity
to
travel to Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal,
Germany, Belgium, Spain, across
Canada
and the United States.
Martial Arts is more than
the kicks, strikes or bunkai that is taught. It
means more
to Tressa than the classes
she attends or the classes she teach.
Tressa trains in the styles of Wushu, Kempo,
Chito-Ryu, Ju Jitsu, Shotokan,
Goju
Ryu and the extreme martial arts.
She has met so many friends
and interesting people because of her martial
arts.
She has travelled
across Europe, the United States and Canada
competing in
the martial arts.
Tressa
enjoys competing in the martial arts and through
her efforts is ranked
in the NASKA circuit
& is part of the NASKA competition team
"Team Str8 Up".
Tressa
attended the 2012 WKC World Karate &
Kickboxing Championships
in
Montreal where she won 6 gold and 4 silver medals
for Canada!
Tressa
attended the 2011 WKC World Karate &
Kickboxing Championships
in
Spain where she won 8 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze
medals for Canada.
In 2010 she also won 7 gold,
3 silver and 1 bronze medal for Canada at the
World Karate Championships
in Portugal.
In
2009 Tressa won 2
GOLD MEDALS and 3 SILVER MEDALS for Canada at
the
2009 WKC world karate championships in Dublin,
Ireland.
In
2008 Tressa won a bronze medal for
Canada after securing third placement
in the
traditional weapons division.
In 2007 Tressa earned the
Professional Martial Arts Alliance's coveted
Triple
Crown for her competition
accomplishments. This is the second
time she has
won this award with the last
time being in 2005.
In 2006Tressa was promoted
to Junior Black Belt in the Genki-do Kempo
karate system. She was the
last junior black belt awarded by Soke Glenn Kwan
before his passing. She
currently holds the rank of Nidan (2nd degree
-2011).
